CLEAResult’s internship program is a win-win
Changing the way people use energy requires a team that understands both the work and the purpose behind it. CLEAResult’s internship program gives interns the opportunity to contribute to real work while learning how the company operates across teams and regions. For CLEAResult, it's a way to develop the next generation of energy professionals.
The program launched in 2022 and continues to grow. CLEAResult’s 2025 Sustainability Report notes a 19% conversion of internship positions into full-time roles — a 9% increase from 2024.
This summer, I joined that group as a Corporate Communications intern.
The 2026 interns meet
CLEAResult welcomed nine interns from universities across the U.S. and Canada this year. We joined at the beginning of June, spending the first few weeks onboarding, starting our projects, and connecting with our teams and each other. On June 23, we came together for our first in-person gathering, a two-day “Intern Day” experience at CLEAResult’s Austin, Texas headquarters.
Intern Day activities
Intern Day started with a warm welcome at the office. We met as a group, toured the space, and shared the projects we’d each been working on. Almost immediately, the experience reinforced a sense of community — a reminder that even when working independently, we’re always working toward the same goals.

Learning from leadership
Throughout the day, we heard presentations from Chief Executive Officer Rich McBee, Chief Technology and Product Officer Matthew Childress, Vice President of Growth Emily Kemper, Vice President of Sales Harrison Grubbs, Chief Operating Officer Vic Pisani, and Finance Director Elizabeth Frost. Hearing directly from senior leaders isn’t something most early-career professionals get — and it gave us a deeper understanding of how each department’s work connects to CLEAResult’s mission.

Reflecting on my experience
Beyond the presentations, we had time to connect with each other and the wider CLEAResult community. As the Corporate Communications intern, I got to play an active role by interviewing my fellow interns and capturing content throughout the day. That meant thinking carefully about our experiences, taking notes on advice from senior leaders, and finding myself connecting it all back to our mission and values.

Team building at Topgolf
On the first evening, we headed to Topgolf for a social event — a chance to spend time together outside of a work setting and get to know each other beyond our roles. It turned a group of colleagues into a team and showed that the people behind the work matter just as much as the work itself.
Volunteering at the Central Texas Food Bank
The following morning, we volunteered at the Central Texas Food Bank, working together to pack approximately 500 meals for the local community. Stepping outside the office to give back put our shared values into practice in a way that’s hard to replicate in an office environment.

Two days with a lasting impact
From hearing candid advice from senior leaders to connecting with the intern group at Topgolf to packing meals at the food bank, these two days gave me something I didn’t expect: a clear sense of what it means to work somewhere with a mission you can actually feel. I’m carrying that with me throughout my time at CLEAResult — and beyond.
